Additionally, three historical pioneers are being inducted into the Hall: Dr. Otto Röhm and Otto Haas of Rohm & Haas; and Hans H. Wanders of National Industrial Chemical.
The PHoF is an international organization which celebrates the men and woman who have had leading roles in the advancement of plastics. In honor of PHoF inductee Arthur P. Haag (the inventor of Purgex), Neutrex Inc. is proud to support the organization and its mission to promote public awareness of the positive role plastics play in the modern world. Since accepting Arthur’s PHoF induction in 2024, Neutrex President John R. Haag has been pleased to serve the PHoF as a member of the Board of Directors and Nominations Committee, and as Vice Chair of the Historical Committee. John helped induct the three new PHoF members researched by the Historical Committee.
The PHoF is engaged in many worthwhile projects beyond celebrating its 252 members. The PHoF is also exploring the creation a university-based library focused on the history of plastics, providing educational scholarships to students studying plastics in college, and developing important stories highlighting the history of plastics. The most recently released story explains how the effort to replace ivory as the building material for billiard balls led to the early development of plastics. Numerous additional stories are under development. The PHoF appreciates all financial support, including dedicated donations for scholarships. If you are interested in helping to preserve the legacy of plastics, promoting the education of scholars in the field of plastics, or nominating worthy plastics pioneers to the Hall, please visit the PHoF at https://plasticshof.org/sponsors/ or contact John at john.haag@neutrex.com.
